Nike x mstrpln ASRD Shoe

Today's Sneaker Freaker dropped some knowledge on the new Nike x mstrpln ASRD shoe. Interesting idea. Looks-wise, it reminds me of the old Airwalks with lace savers.

Check out the piece here:

The ASRD shoe is equipped with an integrated wireless internet detection unit embedded under the flap of the left shoe. Once the pressure sensitive insole is activated, the unit scans the surrounding area for Wi-Fi signals and displays the result through LEDs. The three LEDs on the flap enclosure represent the signal strength of any wireless internet signals within a 50 meter area. A blinking LED represents no signal, while a solid LED shows that there is a signal present.

NIKE X MSTRPLN X UBIQ - ASRD

The ASRD is based on the Nike Dunk platform and was re-engineered by mstrpln to fit the needs of this project. The aesthetics of the shoe keep in theme with a covert and stealthy feel. This is represented through the subdued all-black colourway and additional technical features, notably the shroud style lace-saver that takes design cues from the skate shoes of the late 80's. Additionally, the ASRD uses a dual-lacing system developed so that the shoe could be laced either internally with speed loops, or laced in the conventional manner. Lace locks keep everything under control.

Robust Flavor Gets Stupid on Supreme

The guys at Robust Flavor are pretty funny (to me anyway).

No doubt you've seen the Supreme x Kermit decks that have been running around the Web.

In true Generation: WTF style (calling BS where they think it resides) the guys @ UNIV/Robust Flavor have their own take on the collab.

Pretty ballsy to call out Supreme, but I don't think the Robust Flavor guys care about what you or I think of them.

I still prefer the Nike 6.0 Simpsons 6. DOH! collab, but that's just me.

Mad thanks to CtotheJL and Robust Flavor for the images.

Nike Makes Your Flash Drive Box Fresh

Burton had these out last year (in snowboard form) and now sneaker-heads in offices everywhere can pimp out their USB ports with the Nike version.

This isn't my thing, but I give them credit for the detail, especially the box.

Thanks to Dream Team Clothing for the image.

Nike 6.0 Wakeboard Shoes?

Not that I know of, but Nike 6.0 is doing a pretty cool wake boat with Mastercraft. Actually its not just with MasterCraft, its with $irlin and the Texas Ski Ranch too. Four-way collab.... wow.

Whatever, it's a cool boat. Looks very Navy Seals to me. Terrorize lakeside communities near you now.

Nike SB Zoom Tre A.D.

Nike's SB program is known for the Dunk, but what Nike could probably help the skate world with is making shoes that actually work better for skating. Enter the Nike SB Zoom Tre A.D.

The original versions of this shoe from a few years ago were ugly as sin, but I knew a few tranny guys in NYC that loved skating ramps in them. These look a little better and I'm sure they perform above a lot of what else is out there.

Not everybody wants Nike SB Snowboard Boots

Looks like the fellas from Rome are teaming up with Consolidated to help keep Nike from invading action sports.

I won't lie, I own Nike SB's, but I don't skate in them. I appreciate their recent support of skateboarding to some extent, but I'm wondering about their commitment there and in snowboarding.

Are they a part of this because they want to bring something to skate/snow or because they see the writing on the ramp saying shred and skate will only continue to grow in popularity?

I haven't seen any tech info on these yet. If there's a compelling reason to wear them besides Danny Kass and faux croc, I could change my glum opinon on them.

Nike Drops Snowboard Boots - Really.... Again!

I know I've clowned on the idea of Nike doing boots for snowboarding before, but it looks like they're really happening.

I'm @ SIA now and I'll see if I can get any details, but Liv2Ride and South of North have it pretty much covered.

Nike 6.0 - Six Point Doh! Fake Simpson's Collaboration

Sometimes I crack myself up. High Snobiety (and a lot of others) blogged about the Indy inspired SB blazers.

Well, I was wondering what a Simpson's Movie inspired Blazer would look like. See my vision below. Sprinklicious pink swoosh and toe cap. Homer pants turquoise on the outsole. Rear homer detail in the heel area.

If I only had better Photoshop skills. If only I could have been on the marketing team. If only...

Nike SB P-Rod Oreo's

Sneakerfiles just posted these.

Don't know much about them, but they're close enough to my Dan Murphy's in style, so I dig them. Love or hate Nike, they put out a lot of stuff.

Thanks to Sneakerfiles for the pic.

Nike Air Max 90 Sneaker Book

I don't know why, but I love these.

Nike ACG always has some wild stuff. These are the Nike Air Max 90 Sneaker boot. Not a limited release, not made from faux baby-seal skins, just utilitarian and kinda ugly.

I'm not sure I could rock these, but they definitely look like something I would have worn in college. Maybe.

Reminds me, I have a great pair of Nike ACG clogs I should blog about soon. Haven't worn them in five years, but I do love them.

Todd Oldham x Nike Christmas Dunks

Even Todd likes the Nike.

Not to pass judgement, but he's looking a little tired here, no?

Nike SB J-Rod II Hi

Two Nike SB posts in one day? I know, I'm out of control.

I dig high-tops and everyone from Kick Fiend to Rule of Next and Hypebeast are loving these, but I just don't know.

Nike SB Classics Dan Murphy

I have a love/hate relationship with the Nike. Regardless that I'm not thrilled to have them in action sports (see here for my marketing blog post), they do make some cool kicks.

While I'm not a fan of seasonal sneakers like my Jersey brother Hugh is (he loves these Banksgiving Air Insurgents... I have no idea why), I'm not going to lie and say I don't buy their products. I will tell you I've skated in Dunks before and they didn't hold up great, but these kicks I bought purely for fashion reasons.

Out of my closet are my Nike Air SB Classics Dan Murphy editions. I bought them purely for style reasons and it was well worth the $70.

These are not box fresh. I wear them. Often. They're super comfy, a rad fade with the paint and a cool little dog on the back heel.

Add in an ok insole that may actually hold up to skating.

But again, I don't skate in them, I just chilllll. Probably like most people I see wearing Nike SB's.

Like'em? Hate'em? Let me know.
